Customer Reviews: 0 of 0 found this review helpful: easy to use ... a workhorse !, 2008-07-06 i have used havaharts before & needed a larger one for a larger capture ... simple set-up, safe to handle & they do not disappoint ... ps ... they last forever ... recommend much ! 0 of 0 found this review helpful: EASY to use..., 2008-05-27 QUALITY / CONSTRUCTION: the cage construction is sturdy, though i've only used it to catch cats. there are four unfinished metal rods that stick out from the top edge of the trap (extension of the hinge mechanisms), so take care to not gore yourself. you might consider applying a dab of silicone sealant or something to take the edge off. USE: The only hard part was baiting the trap (it's a long reach to the back of the trap, and the opening is narrow). The easy set trap door is just that - extremely easy to set. Release a tab on the handle, slide the handle toward the back of the cage, and it hooks automatically on the trigger. Cats remain unharmed, and will remain calm if you cover the cage with a dark cloth during relocation / transportation. No cover is provided, so you'll have to find something on your own. OVERALL: I'm very happy with the Havahart easy set trap. It is easy to use and traps the animal in a humane manner. 2 of 6 found this review helpful: It could have been good, 2007-10-01 After weeks of waiting for the my "Free Super Saver Shipping" the box arrived. Unfortunately no one at Amazon's shipping department bothered to double box my Havahart. As a result the metal acuating support bars were sticking out of the box on both sides which resulted in the trap's door mechanisms to not work properly. I will never know if this trap works well or not until I send the damaged one back and wait to receive a replacement. 5 of 5 found this review helpful: Got my pest!!, 2007-01-10 I have been plagued with pesky armadillos for the last several years in my Florida yard. After getting advice from several people, I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of these guys as my lawn has large dead spots where the root systems have been destroyed, not to mention the uneven ground that my kids play on due to the multiple holes that are dug. I tried mothballs, filling their holes with dirt and water, covering their holes, even tainted food. Nothing worked. I finally broke down and bought this Havahart trap 1 month ago. At first, I caught several animals except for an armadillo (opossums, racoons mainly) I tried using several different types of bait until I finally got my armadillo this past Monday. The bait---a rotten Mango. Did the trick!! I relocated this critter to an uninhabited preservation area several miles away where he can go about his business as he pleases. The handle on this trap made it easy to transport the animal without difficulty. I am a satisfied customer.
